When we met, neither my wife or I were playing music. We met at a contra dance, which we still attend, but we liked the music so much we decided to start playing. She had played some piano in high school, but I started from scratch. Since there was very little Quebecois music in our area we started going north to learn tunes.

Roger every Wednesday evening Le Foyer has been hosting a Fiddle Jam. below is the initial announcement. I'm told the event will continue for the next three weeks to 11/19/2008. Musicians have showed up with fiddles, banjos, guitars etc. If you are interested in expanding your range of French Canadian music its a good opportunity. Ray Patnaude

You can bring to life the music played in the homes of the French Canadian by participating in a fiddle jam led by Colette Fournier playing tunes of the Quebecois Traditions.
