We lived briefly in Cohoes in the late '40's. Attended kindergarten at St. Josephs - only to discover when we moved that summer that I was too young for 1st grade. so I had to repeat kindergarten.

HI, Mary. Vonnie, John's wife, here. You must live in Cohoes, then? Our friend just a half mile down the road from where we are in Easton, Bernie Ouimet, lived there for a bit after he emigrated from Quebec. He is a great resource for old family songs.
Yes, I would also attach eastern New York to the New England states as far as the French Connection goes. There used to be a very strong Franco-American society in Cohoes. We joined and attended several of the fetes there in the 80s.
