About Me:
I have spoken French since childhood. I am not a "typical" Franco-American, but we share some common experiences. Like many "typical Franco-Americans," I have been threatened with job loss in the past for speaking French. Also, like many "typical Franco-Americans," I have been put down by others for speaking French "incorrectly." Still, the language is a part of me that I do not wish to lose, and I speak it almost every day. I think that if the language disappears, the younger generation will be all the poorer for it.
