HI, Nathalie. We (John and Vonnie) dance in Longueuil once in a while. Do you know about the AQLF organization? They hold traditional Quebecois social dances there once a month. We belong as 'exterior of Quebec' members. Other dancers there are very nice about translating the calls for us if we don't happen to catch on to the pattern of the 'set carre' or 'quadrille' being taught...

Salut bien Nathalie! Yes poutine is really good, but in small doses! Glad you joined and hopefully we can hang out some time. I'll try to keep posting info about french events throughout New England as best as possible. I'll also be starting up my own here in CT where there are far too few. A la prochaine!

My buddy Daniel started it. I think its way overdue! :) I hardly know anything about our culture except for meat pies, pontoufs [or however you spell it], sucre la creme and tirre :o) After listening to the french-canadian music this weekend & hanging out with everyone I met there, it just really peaked my interest. Born in Longeuielle, QC Canada (next to Montreal_Laval). Raised in Connecticut since I was 2! Both my parents are French Canadian, Dad from Au Claire, QC and Mom from St. Georges du Beauce, QC. I spoke French Canadian in the home but English at school and with friends. I still speak fluently and am trying to teach my children. I absolutely love my heritage and visit my family in Canada every year! Looking forward to meeting other Canadians and learning about your cultures, memories, etc.

I have 2 amazing children, 10 and 7 and recently married the man of my dreams!
