I recently heard the Nicolas Pellerin Trio, they are from the Montreal area -- they were worth going to see. They really made the instruments sing and sang very well also. They do some of the old songs a little different than my family but that is what folks songs are all about. My sister martha did a lot to promote French history in Vermont and other places. She did concerts but also workshops at schools. You can find her on the internet she died of cancer 10 years ago at the age of 36. I am at work but will get the names for you of my ancesters when I get a day off. I don't get many!!
My parents grew up in St Sophie Quebec, moved here in 1957. After a couple of years settled in Barre VT. My mother's parents were Charles and Marieanne and my father's were Archilles and Edwidge (sp?) I have some info going back to 1700 or so and will that up and let you know the names. There was a Calix Pellerin in my history./ I have many relatives in Victoriaville and Plessisville which are north of
Sherbrooke Are you related to the Langevins in St Albans area? Did you ever get the chance to hear my sister sing, Martha Pellerin?
