Talk about a restraint on trade. A lot of people use that bridge. We live far enough south that it's not a problem going to Vermont. Thanks for the info.

Congratulations on your CD!!!
We're going up to Montreal for a Sunday night contra dance in November and perhaps a traditional Quebecois dance on Saturday. Just can't hold off going until Chantz-Vous in Feburary.
We'll miss you at the barn dance. You need to think up an excuse for us to go to Vermont to jam with you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for keeping me in mind re the French music events up north. I would so love to attend one/some. I will have to talk with hubby and see if there's any chance we can go. He has a cousin in Ludlow VT...is that anywhere near any of these? I recently decided to give my notice to retire but my last working day won't be until Aug. 7. After that, I'm free most weekends. I wish we had more going on here in CT. Are you going to all of them (not counting the one you are actually playing in)? It would be nice to meet you personally and bring my accordions. Thanks and let me know. Jeannette

Thanks, George.
I will be looking forward to hearing from you regarding those music events around New England & Quebec.
I heard of one in Wakefield, RI on Sep. 12. It will be a pig roast with gathering of musicians and their families It will start at 1pm. Sounds like there might be camping around there. It will be a free-for-all kind of music jamming. If more interested, a fellow by the name of Larry Fortin at 401-783-9731 is the one to contact. Thanks again. Jeanette

Hi again, George,
Thought I'd ask you a favor....when you hear of a program that features the French, Canadian folk/cultural music, whether it be in VT, NH, Quebec, etc., can you try to remember to let me know about it? I am still in the work force but hope to retire in September, when I'll have a little more free time. There is not much in CT that I know of so I would perhaps drive to another state for the experience. Not sure if hubby would care to go but for once, he might.
Hope you had a nice holiday time. We did. Take care. Jeannette Lazlo

About Me:
I have been playing French music on accordion since 1989 when I first heard Ad Vielle que Pourra. For the past 6 years I have been a member of Va-et-Vient which is a group of four musicians from the Champlain Valley of Vermont that perform only French music but from all over the world. I regularly attend festivals in Quebec and love to dance to the music which I play. I believe to truly understand the music as a musician you need to know how it feels to dance to it.

Va-et-vient album release

I hope this is not considered abusing site privileges however
I would like to announce to all the French in New England members
that my music ensemble, Va-et-vient has just released our first CD
titled Porte ouverte. The CD contains 15 selections of French chansons
and instrumentals that you might enjoy for your own listening or as gifts for
presenting to French speaking friends. At this point it may be purchased on the
internet at CDBaby or from the link on our website, www.vaetvient.net.
