It's very far for us since we're a small weekly serving communities along the St. John River. But I will tell Damboise about your reunion. We had a Levesque reunion in Madawaska, Maine, in 1996, and had more than 1,000 people show up. It was fanta...
Wow I didn't know Acadian Day was celebrated differently in Maine, good to know. My great grandfather was born in Van Buren Maine, I had a great aunt who lived in Mattawonkeeg, she passed away years ago. This summer we are going to the CMA2009 in northern New Brunswick, should be fun with lots of acadian and cajun music. Keep up the good work , your band really sounds great.

HI Don, thank you for the url and I love the songs ,and I guessed Roger was either the one with the beard or the one next to him, so I was correct. I am sure your band must really liven up a party. Where are you guys playing on Acadian day Aug 15?
Aline
hello Don, first of all thank you for posting the article in your newspaper, and Roger said he is going to try and attend on the 18th. I have been surfing for his band and voila, tu es la. grin. I would love to have your band there , but I do know you all have commitments, but honestly I love Acadian music.
I am trying to figure out which one is Roger is on the photo at you tube.

Yes Don, I read your editorial "Mon 5 cent" all the time since I get the St John valley regularly in the mail. I love it and it makes me laugh sometimes cause the lanquage brings back memories. My mother used to get it, since she was born in Van Buren, and I have continued the subscription since her passing. I love Aroostook County and I would go back to my roots if the winters were not so long and cold. Keep up the good work man Joseph roger Ouellette
Don: I just got back from the area on Monday, I attended a family event in Edmundston .
Dunno the origin, but in Salem, MA, it was used to mean very far away. En 1971, j'me trouvais dans l'Aroostook County au nord du Maine en hiver avec mon boss. Ce qui m'avait impressionné, c'est que meme les non-francophones disait Sainte-Agathe (Saint-Agatha) !!! Roger

I have written a bilingual weekly column, Mon 5¢, in the newspaper since 1988. It talks about politics but mainly it speaks about the St. John Valley, our heritage, notre fierté d'être Acadiens et Franco-Americains.
I have also published two glossaries of local patois, dictons et metaphores. They are self-published and are sold by the Valley Times.
I am past president of L'Association Levesque, Inc., and am currently a board member. There are about 500 members in our family Association and most everything takes place en francais au Québec.
Je suis très heureux de voir des gens de partous sur cette page. Je vais surement la mentionner dans ma chronique.
