- I was brought up in a French-Canadian neighborhood in the north end of New Bedford and lived in the traditional 3 decker
until the 4th grade when the family moved to Acushnet. My Dad delivered bread etc. from house to house for many years and related many stories of his experiences.
I am presently contemplating writing a mystery novel reelating to the time period between 1925 - 1935 with New Bedford as the main locale. The main characters are mostly Franco-American from the north end of New Bedford, but will include the waterfront area and the fishing industry, the downtown area, etc.
I am looking for assistance to assure that times and events being depicted are fairly accurate. This novel will not be an historical novel but a fictional story situated in a particular place and time.
