French In New England

How much French still exists in New England?

Things are going great for our reunion. I have received a lot of donations for prizes, a lot of CDs and DVDs, Edith Butler has donated some cassettes and CDs, Tom Bergeron the saxiphonist gave a us a lot of his CDs, Edith by the way has Bergeron-Damboise on her maternal line. Jaimee Bergeron and the kicking Cajuns from Lousiana have donated a few of their CDs. Bev Bergeron alias Rebo the clown and a famous magician has donated a few DVDs. And there are more beautiful prizes donated. I am pleased with the results. We will give the prizes out at the hall on the 19th.
The guests are increasing, the hotel where we are staying is nearly all booked up, last time I phoned they had about six rooms left. I am trying to have as many prizes as we are having guests in order for everyone to go home with a little something.
We have decided to donate the rest of the food to a Fredericton Food Bank after the reunion, and some guests are bringing in some of their favorite sweets. I have contacted some places to see if they would donate , and I am waiting till my requests goes to a meeting.
I have asked the guests if they play an instrument to bring them along just in case, we can play in the park or at the hall.
Our latest guests are from Quebec, a party of nine , seeing that this is our first Bergeron-Damboise reunion it is looking good. I will post some photos after our reunion. I am going to Fredericton Tuesday to view the hall, and ask questions and meet the lady who will be doing the lunch.
I want to thank Don for spreading the word in his newspaper, I have received some replies.
Have a great day,
Bonne journee a tous.
Aline
